It looks like the cheapest voice+text deal is around $35/month there. That gives only 200 text messages per month, though.

If you're prepared to switch to that service or a different carrier, call AT&T and tell them what you're going to do. Their customer-service people have a lot of leeway to offer special deals. You might be able to keep your current level of service for, say, $40/month. There's really no difference in cost to AT&T, but they'd be getting $5/month more from you, so it's in their interest to cooperate.

Just make sure it's not a six-month discount against a new 2-year contract at a higher price, or anything like that. Make it clear you want to save money indefinitely, not just until July.
