hectic wednesday adulting
So much I want to try to scratch off my list, today, need to collect thoughts....
* bank run, check deposit, get change, set up bill pay to Josh
* swing by interesting houses if convenient and there is time (we've been house hunting with no luck yet - either he likes it and I don't, or vice versa)
* bike ride, coffee, reading and writing in journal/grandma's family history book
* schedule visit with stepdad and his gf and maybe try reaching out to step-brother again
* see about getting addresses for step-niece and nephew Kevin and Emily? Find their phone numbers? kind of want to send them gifts even though they've never once given me so much as a card or well wishes for any holiday ever. they are 28 and 31.
* make a list of addresses for sending holiday cards
* hulu subscription for wwdits (we can't tolerate the ads, I need to get ad-free for a bit)
* groceries? kinda don't need to go but would like to get goji berries and such. grocery shopping is just my happy place i guess.
* find receipt for "squirrel buster" and take it back because the squirrels took less than a day to figure out how to get birdseed out of it, sigh (should have known) also the birds hate it because it spins when they try to land on it. (Avalanche is asleep in front of my receipt box right now so I can't go digging for it at the moment.)
* brush avalanche
* sweep floors at the very least (I would love to also mop, clean cabinets/walls, and scrub sinks and tub but I know I won't get to it)
* get new lights at freddies and get tree up tonight finally pleeeeeeease this has to happen today erf (also get large eye and hook at freddies if they have such a thing, I need to create a way to close my hot pink hoodie coat other than the waist tie it came with that I've already lost anwyays)
* dermatology appt - what is going on with my skin exactly (there are some new aggravating issues, oh the joys of reaching ones 50s)
* I was going to make an appt with my doctor but I forgot that he still failed to get a referral in to the foot clinic, but then, so did everyone else I asked, so maybe the issue is not the doctor but the clinic itself? sigh.
I had a frustrating conversation with a friend, a former dancer and jazz musician in her 80s, she is an incredible human, so smart and so sharp, she is using the same Legacy Health clinic I was hoping to get in with, it's close by and they have tons of doctors and they are accepting new patients. But she told me, what has happened to her there over and over again, is that they are all super busy so appts are 2-3 months out, and then they cancel the day before because they are too overbooked, so you have to reschedule another 2-3 months out, ad infinitum. The whole point of me trying this clinic was to avoid this exact scenario, because I have hit this wall at my current clinic and I *hate* it. I hate not being able to access care. I don't understand where to go or what to do. I tried zoomcare and while you can get in often the same day or easily the next day, they made me more sick instead of better. UUUGGHHHHHH this sucks so much. So I'm stuck with my online doctor who is halfway across the country, doesn't accept insurance, and also cancels on me randomly and rebooks a month out when this happens. Noooooooooooooooooooo.
What do I do? Where do I go? How do I get care? Do I just hope I don't get sick or injured?
