Animal abandonment means leaving behind an animal alone or permitting the animal to be abandoned in circumstances which might cause harm to the animal. Owner of the animal is answerable for the suffering caused to the animal. This is a serious criminal offense in the U.S.
Got a super strange message forwarded from the people who were feeding the cat on their porch, that reads (partly) as follows: "I'm asking because I'm friends with the original owner. She just let me know Gomez has been missing, she's been dealing with post-partum depression for the past few weeks and didn't let anyone know what was going on"

(besides continue to over-eat and bloat myself uncomfortably. at least tonight it was over-eating seared nettles and tofu instead of entire bags of corn chips and chocolate bars. I feel so horrible.)
