Got a super strange message forwarded from the people who were feeding the cat on their porch, that reads (partly) as follows: "I'm asking because I'm friends with the original owner. She just let me know Gomez has been missing, she's been dealing with post-partum depression for the past few weeks and didn't let anyone know what was going on"

Definitely not surrendering cat to a non-legit rando, but if Depressed Mom can verify chip info, and can describe details about Luna, what can I do?
(besides continue to over-eat and bloat myself uncomfortably. at least tonight it was over-eating seared nettles and tofu instead of entire bags of corn chips and chocolate bars. I feel so horrible.)
