Yesterday was amazing.

I got up late, later than I'd hoped, and then got delayed by a sudden (anxiety-driven) need to find a lost xmas CD - I never found it, I can't remember the name, but I love the music and now I'm upset. I'm pretty sure I ripped the music onto a computer at some point, but it's not on this one and my old laptop refused to boot up the last time I tried (blue screen of death, too many months of updates missed and windows 10 isn't supported anymore, I don't think). I'm sure I have the physical CD somewhere, though, I just need to be patient.

But anyway, I lost a chunk of time searching for that.

But I still managed to henna my hair, make a pear/apple crisp, take a shower, and get everything gathered for skiing with Trenton.

I felt SO MUCH BETTER in the morning. My shoulder is still not great but the stabbing pain is completely gone and my collarbone area feels totally fine, now. It's just the back of my shoulder that's still bothersome, that's kind of always bothersome. This shoulder was dislocated as a child in a kind of crazy way so it might just be something I struggle with for the rest of my life, I don't know. I injured it in 2014 and it's never felt quite right since.

What I really need to do is go see Dr Drew, the local aerialists/circus performer's favorite chiro. But I can't seem to motivate myself to make the appointment?

There are so many things I need to do that I can't motivate myself for. I think I need to lean on that trick of giving myself some sort of reward for the accomplishment. A list....

* apply for passport - reward = ? (you would think "having a passport" would be reward enough but alas)

* teeth care - reward = ? (you would think "nicer looking teeth" would be sufficient?, alas, alack)

* book a facial - reward = ? (why isn't "healthier skin" good enough, serafaery?)

* book appt with Dr Drew - reward = ? (I am a creature driven by dopamine, apparently)

* clean up office = reward = ?

* sweep/mop floors = reward = ?

* start to sort and wrap presents - reward = ?

Even if it's just a silly thing like a latte, for some reason some tangible reward works better than say, "having clean floors" - ugh I exasperate myself.

...

I want to go to the farmers market this weekend, this needs prioritizing, I am out of too many beautiful foods that I can only get there.

...

Just pulled out a roasted squash so I can make pumpkin pie when I get home from work tonight. I think the reason I always manage to cook and clean the kitchen without additional brain trickery is because the reward of yummy food is fairly immediate. Also I just love being in the kitchen and working with food, it feels good and the food is beautiful to handle and look at - I cook with so many fresh vegetables and the colors and scents are all a delight.

Need to make a lunch for myself, get dressed for work, and leave early enough to give myself time to drop off Trenton's ski rental equipment. He doesn't have a car so getting him onto the mountain with me took quite a bit of extra work on my part, but it was really fun and it was nice to see him happy and relaxed. I don't have a lot of hope for him transforming his life into becoming an outdoor enthusiast like I did, he parties so hard and is perhaps too much of a stoner to motivate. But I want to give him a chance. Tyler took a chance on me and now I am actually able to make his outdoor trips easier and more fun, instead of being a burden for him.

I might bring pizza for him and Ben at Clear Lake, it's been a while since I did that. Or the pesto/cheese stuffed chicken thighs he always loves so much. Both? I need to order some bone broth packets come to think of it.

gotta run to werk, here's some pix - a dude asked as we walked into the bar and saw my onesie, "Okay what's the deal" and I said, "We went skiing!" as if that answers the question, lol.
