To answer the lovely [livejournal.com profile] coccinellidae's question about the battery pack, yes, the wings light up:

The red-eye makes me look like some sort of wicked otherworldly creature.

Kale with local sweet onion, garlic, dulce, purple and fingerling potatoes. Quinoa. Corn on the cob. This is a typical dinner for me. I am amazed at the wonderfulness of food.

I'm amazed at the wonderfulness of everything, today. Helpful physical therapy. My friends. My sweet cute healthy playful cat. A perfect latte. Savory treats. Melty soaky warm water happiness. Sunflowers bursting. Purple hair. Wings wings wings.

I want to glue my ears on now! But no. Not until Friday. Or my hair will turn them purple. (I sleep in them over the weekend at Faerieworlds. Spirit gum and liquid latex hold up surprisingly well, even through sleeping and showering.)

I'm oddly not the slightest bit stressed even though I'm very behind in what I wanted to get done by now. No point in stressing. I'm so happy just to go. And I'm happy to prepare calmly and slowly, enjoying each moment of the process, and the moments between.

Faerieworlds! Squeep!

The OHSU student who was doing a little "Faerie Fashion" piece in Eugene for the Good Faeries/Bad Faeries masquerade balls For Flux posted a little slideshow video of those of us she interviewed. The Green Man is the best. I've seen him for many years but absolutely fell in love with him this winter. We shall be fast friends at future Faerieworlds, I feel.

My bit is way toward the end. My voice is so weird and squicky! Hehe.

Haven't done a gratitude list in a while - funny how the lack of them always coincides with feeling awful. Hmmmm. ;)

I found some things lingering on my werk computer so I thought I'd post them before getting started on a new list for this week.

A couple weeks ago, I was grateful for:

* handcrafted chai from Spella w/ Myrrh
* pretty red umbrella in the rain
* leaving the office to recycle materials
* dancing
* handmade earrings
* grrltime
* coffee & baby oranges w/ Myrrh and MSL
* colorful sunrise
* strange warm gusty dry January days
* nightcap at Swift w/ Jim and Val
* Mystique masks in Pioneer Place
* "you're cute" and "you look magical" comliments on the street after visiting Mystique

Here are a couple of my favorite Facebook pictures from the Faerieworlds Winterfest so far - faeries need coffee.

At the Faerieworlds Marketplace, to see Adam Hurst play and the end of the Saturday evening. I think my afternoon costume change from faery to satyr meant I missed the reported costume contest, oops.

In the lounge with Matt at the Bad Faeries Masquerade ball. I was a little tipsy and trying not to hit people whilst spinning poi.

A few more satyr pictures from Faerieworlds have trickled in. I've got one more photographer I need to call about it still. Anyway, thought I'd post these just for fun. I'm actually spinning my poi in some of them, though they're just the daytime practice poi so there's not like, cool swirls of light or anything. (Click through them for full sizes - none of them are too huge. I think the first one's the largest.)

More this way. )

Willow's been so happy to have me back. Last night she sat on my chest and stretched her paw out and so very gently and carefully dragged her little index toe pad across my bottom lip, and then put her other paw in my hand as I fell asleep. Yes, love, I'm back, all yours.

Film shoot yesterday, we had to be on location at 7am. I was the only one with blankets and chairs in my car (left over from face painting/Faerieworlds, and I always have a blanket in my car, in case I ever break down somewhere cold). I was nervous that my wings weren't good enough for the film, but once the girls were in full costume and makeup they really looked good. I spent the 12 hours amusing myself by following my wings around like a mother hen, readjusting them so that they would look just right for each shot, gluing down threads that popped out, making sure they were as natural looking as possible. It was cool to look at the monitor and see them on film. I'll have pictures from the photo shoot this week, hopefully.

My head has been killing me all day. I think I'll try one more Imitrex after I'm done here, and then head out to dinner with Myrrh, who it feels like I haven't seen in weeks.

Another guy sent me pictures of the hooves from Faerieworlds, which I'll put under a cut. I think the one from the back gives a better idea of the scale. And the darling [livejournal.com profile] foxgrrl is in the shot, hehe.

I have much to catch up on here but I am so exhausted - I just had to say that Faerieworlds was ridiculously fun, despite going a day late and several hours late to that day. I saw old friends and met new ones, people kept snapping my picture everywhere I turned, and Toby Froud helped me spin my first set of glo-poi, promising a spin-off if we both return next year. Also, I won a piece of artwork for a little story I wrote on lj for the gift-giver. I'm drowning in delight and am going to pass out in the nude with sore feet and shimmer powder littering the bed. La.

As I only have a couple more hours of work, and found out via [livejournal.com profile] posiefairy that Toby Froud will indeed be attending Faerieworlds, I'm suddenly beside myself with excitement. Who's going? I'm going to have to book a hotel room lickitysplit. Need a place to crash? Email me! serafaery@comcast.net.

I will have to make a new set of wings pronto. And probably buy accessories for a "dark" costume for Sunday, as I'm not happy with the pieces I currently have. I also will need to dye the hair. I can't have it just blonde for the festival. I needs me some purple.

...

Coffee in the afternoon again, Sera? Are you trying to see how addicted you can make yourself? *tweak*

...

I have to share this, because it's so totally awesome: iPhone is shitty and so's your face. lolz.
