figure skating nationals, connections
Jan. 30th, 2023 08:43 amIt's fun to see skaters grow up and do well.
I remember 4+ years ago when I was skating pretty frequently, Sam would get on the ice and I'd kinda say to myself, oh crap, Sam is here, I better shape up and make sure it's obvious I deserve to be here.
He would always inspire me to try hard things and maintain strong posture and technique. It's rare to have quality skaters like him in Portland.
9th at his first senior nationals is an excellent standing, I mean, can you imagine being 9th in the US at anything? Let alone something as hard as figure skating.
Little Kiera got 2nd this year at Junior Ladies, too, another skater I used to share the ice with. She skated so brilliantly. So heartwarming.
