rough weekend.

(I love you, no matter how many times you've flown to paradise or how many children you have, btw. no judgement. just reflecting on my own approach to my own little insignificant existence.)

Never been to Hawaii.
Never going to Hawaii.
Always felt it is decadent, wasteful behavior, to burn massive amounts of fossil fuel flying to a place that was stolen and is being destroyed by tourism.
That feeling has been validated, now, in the most horrific way.

There is so much beauty to enjoy in my own home. I am so fortunate to have been born in Oregon. There's no need to exploit the land of others for my own enjoyment.

There are kinder paths to bliss.

My behavior is not perfect, I have flown and traveled for fun. I drive when I don't need to, to get to wilderness I so crave. Western World humans are a blight on the earth; that's why I don't have children.
I probably will fly to Europe again one day, Josh desperately wants me to go. But I'm trying to be as gentle and thoughtful as I possibly can about how I use this one little life I was gifted.

To tread on mother earth lightly. To thank her and protect her as much as possible, before she takes back the body she gave me.
