good morning, squirrels and birds

For the last four years I've been able to book my favorite lookout for my birthday, but this year, it didn't go through. I really thought I had it, I set everything up like I always do and timed it perfectly, and it was processing as if I had gotten it, but then after a few seconds, it spit out an "unfortunately someone else has already booked those dates" reply even though I'm there the first second of opening. These spots are very competitive and lots of people are all trying at once, I'm just sad my luck finally failed after four years of success - I was starting to get a little cocky lol.
I do have it for an earlier week in May and I will keep trying, the later in May it gets and into June, the nicer the weather anyway. It's just I was getting pretty spoiled with the lookout birthday trips.
I'm turning 50, maybe it's a year to go to Mexico anyway, I dunno. Something different.
Avalanche is purring on my lap, I'm all bundled up having filled the bird feeder before sunrise, maybe she'll be up for a little walk? It's raining very lightly and not too cold or windy at the moment. I'm trying dried corn for the squirrels, to try to give them something besides the bird feeder to go after, excited to see whether they like it.
Soooooo looking forward to a quiet gentle Sunday. Farmers market and floors/cleaning are on the agenda, maybe getting the Halloween bins out and put that stuff away, and begin with some holiday stuff - we'll see. I do need some exercise and it'll be too rainy to ride my bike safely, will have to figure out something. Maybe another Tabor walk.
