I just wanted to say that as we were dancing Friday night and pHunk was trying to remember how he got into Cyndi Lauper, that I reminisced that I wouldn't have had any exposure to pop music at age 8+ without splendid_red's influence. She was the one who bought the albums, and we listened to vinyl on her superkeen oldskool Ladybug record player. So, thanks, Red, for making my life richer with your musics and players and being a best friend to me when no one else would. Much love. <3

OMG, the ladybug record player!! I wonder what happened to that thing. It's amazing how it and the TV in my parents' den were like, the center of our 80s music world.

Dude, it would probably be worth like $200 if it were still functional. Those things were gorgeous, but fragile, if I remember correctly. Yeah, MTV + Ladybug player = so much awesome music. That was the best.

My parents are cleaning out a bunch of stuff at my dad's house. I'll ask if they've seen it. I sort of remember that we might have sold it at a garage sale or something though. Why do you never know what's valuable until it's too late?

Because if you knew it was going to be valuable and held onto it, then it wouldn't BE valuable because everyone would still have one. *grin* It is the way of things. I can't even find a picture of one online - I can't believe they are so rare now! It was totally awesome. When I told Preston we used it to listen to music, he responded with a sincere, "Hot!" Hehehehe.
