I am absolutely in love with snow. We had an unexpected little dusting yesterday that left a thin, gorgeous little blanket of white for me this morning. I am up, going to change clothes, find my camera, and take a walk to get coffee before it starts to melt.

There's something beautiful about snow - I used to hate it when little (i.e. didn't skate or ski) but can't imagine winter without it. There is no substitute for the silence provided with a blanket of snow :)

The picture is not mine - I wish! It is from a website I've been obsessed with for years called kitausagi.com (northern rabbit).

Portland so very rarely gets snow. If we see flakes at all we're lucky, let alone anything that accumulates. But we had over a week of accumulation followed by every-other-weekend sticking-and-melting flurries so now people are sick of it. They will be sad that they didn't delight in it while they could, as it'll be ten years before we get another winter with snowfall that sticks even for an hour.
