Forgotten gentle moment in the morning.
Jan. 8th, 2009 10:11 pmSince I knew today would involve a lot of running around (student orientation), I got coffee at Backspace before going to work. Usually I walk past Backspace to work, clock in, get situated and take care of anything pressing, and then walk back down to get coffee. Helps break up the day. But not today. Chatted with Megan, watched Joshua pour steamed milk into my mug.
I saw the greyhound there that I see relatively often, and gave her a pet. She's extremely affectionate and clearly her owner dotes on her. She has the shiniest collar tags and always a stylish blanket in the cold weather - this one was a sort of rain jacket with a turtleneck sort of loosely snugged around her neck. In pink. So cute.
After getting coffee I gave her some more loves, and talked to her owner a little (I need to learn his name, next time I see him). She is old, 11+, but stunningly beautiful and silky and so gentle and darling. Her name is Conquer, her old racing name.
I am in love with this dog. She reminds me of my childhood dog. Boo-boo was a Chihuahua mix, with floppy ears, so they have similar shaped heads and big brown eyes and awwww. Love.
