Yesterday I was looking for an affordable piece of fruit for breakfast at Whole Foods. Most of their produce is $2.99 per pound or more, but I found a Bosc pear for $1.99.
Picked one up and started to walk, but stopped and thought, where's the "organic" sign? Nothing. Where are they from? New Zealand! I want seasonal, local fruit.
I opted for the organic Valencia orange from California, also for $1.99lb. They are usually too sour for me, but this was juicy and sweet.
It's the little things. They keep me going.
Splurged on a $4 pint of Hood River (local) organic blueberries this morning. Yum. Hopefully they will take back the little plastic pint cover?
