What changed.
Sep. 4th, 2019 08:24 amPosted this on facebook this morning since I've been posting about recovering from chronic pain recently:
For those who asked after my chronic pain history: I have hip dysplasia (surgically corrected by reshaping my acetabulum in 2003 - this condition is usually developmentally corrected without surgery if caught and treated in infancy) and some mild general joint looseness that can cause pain with inflammation (this flexibility also prevents injury, so it's a win/lose kind of), and suffered from chronic migraines. my non-stop pain began at age 22. This is the first year I've been pain-free since that year, half my life ago. Thank you for reading
What changed: going off birth control (biggest change) and all pharmaceuticals including over the counter, avoiding processed foods, most grains, and dairy/animal products aside from two farms I trust (I do cheat sometimes), having enough money and to not be in a constant state of stress/worry over stable housing or resources, a healthy work/life balance and work I love to do, increased activity level, and a whole lotta love. I don't think I've had a full blown migraine since Faerieworlds 2018, and they don't cause hours of dry-heaving anymore when they do happen, I can sleep them off now. I tolerate heat and cold better, my mood is vastly improved, my appetite is more balanced (rarely do I get "hangry" since backing off grains), my respiration is better, sleep is more solid.
