roasted Ian and Karissa some coffee, hopefully I can grab some bully sticks for Lulu and swing by their place today. They lost their 12 year old precious rescue pibble Nelly suddenly on Christmas day. She died surrounded in love and not in pain, thankfully, after a day with her grandpuppy family and another day playing on the farm, but they were not ready. Vegan cookies and coffee seem appropriate.

I want to bake more gingerbread and chocolate chip cookies for Tyler for this weekend but I doubt I'll have time for all that and the shortbread, bah. There will be more time for cookies in January I suppose.

...

lyrics i was hashing out for In the Bleak Midwinter while I was falling asleep last night:

In the wild midwinter
trees as bare as stone
sky in shrouded shadow
no moon or starlight shone

footsteps falling in the snow
miles to go
in the deep midwinter
hearts in stillness glow

still finessing but it's a start <3

Hager weather has changed to the worse, it's going to be similar to last time, but we'll make it, it will be type 2 fun.

Josh said the sweetest thing while I was baking in the kitchen, today. He said, those people you love and spend time with and are there for you, like Ian and Karissa, like Pixie and Tyler, like Cynthia and Derrick and Natasha... I mean, Jim or Tom (my step-brothers) would probably do something for you if you needed them, but those people who are there all the time, they are your family. You don't see eye to eye with your step-family, it's hard when you have different perspectives on the world, it's why you don't see them except for holidays, right?

Siiiiigh. He is so sweet and kind and wise.

Also he lets me keep the halloween towel out all year in the kitchen.

He also called me a Superwoman for running in the pouring slightly hail-y rain today, and for cooking and cleaning and working all day yesterday, and commuting on my bike.

I'm the luckiest.
