a day in the death
Feb. 4th, 2021 09:05 amIn Josh's oatmeal this morning: raisins, goji berries, almonds, cinnamon, matcha, ground flax seeds, freshly grated turmeric and ginger, dash of pepper (to activate turmeric), freshly sliced kiwi, fresh blueberries, pomegranate seeds. I could have zested lemon but, next time :)
In my coffee this morning (roasted myself from the beans from the women's coop in columbia, it's amazing): dried turmeric, pumpkin spice, dash of pepper, additional cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon, with mushroom tincture and grassmilk organic half and half.
I only had one coffee yesterday so it tastes extra good, this morning.
things I need to do today:
* 2nd draft of obituary
* respond to girls about possible weekly zoom craft night
* warm compress for eye (started last night, needs more, this infection from all the crying and rubbing is going to get worse if i don't tend to it)
* start taxes folder
* unemployment claim
* bike to grocery store
* bike to bella luna coffee and to drop off order to customer (confirm w/ Dallas)
* get in a run?
* return call from crematorium to collect mom's ashes
* select urns/containers for mom's ashes
* start footwork on how/where to publish obit (Oregonian, what other local papers? Should I do one for Fargo since maybe she has old high school friends there still who might enjoy the website?)
* finish bench application and submit
* drafts for plaque text, start on this
* tofu tacos for Josh for lunch
* go through large box of photos for mom's obit photo
...
The trashy vampire netflix show stopped being a comforting distraction and got just frankly too bloody and full of death for me after the end of season 2, so last night I decided to take a break from Vamp Diaries and went back to Queen's Gambit and then HER MOM DIED uuuuuuggghhhhhhhh *headdesk*
I'm really, really glad I went out into the snowy forest yesterday for some healthy nature bathing, it is so, so necessary to remember that this world holds so much beauty for us, despite all the difficulties.
"The oatmeal's really good!" husband's voice calls from the bedroom/his office. heartwarming.
