had a 101.2 fever this morning, i can't remember the last time i had any sort of fever like that, maybe in the 2000s? my core temp sits at 97.6 so it's higher than it looks. it felt pretty terrible. i took a long, hot shower and it broke about an hour after that, thank goodness, i feel a million times better. from what i've seen from others i'm sure i'll come back a couple more times, sigh.

my sense of smell and taste are still solid, a little too good, i want to eat everything lol. trying to take it easy, after devouring an entire 16oz can of chicken noodle and two pieces of delicious sourdough garlic toast, oops.

the soup was wonderful.

the instacart lady forgot my strawberries and gave me a bunch of turkey and ham deli meat i didn't order, josh is pretty happy about this development lol.

i somehow got 3 orders out today, i hope i put the right addresses on everything, was a little delirious at the time oops.

stupid covid.

josh is not a good caretaker, aside from reminded me to take advil which i'm grateful for. he's worried about catching covid from me and not helping me at all, but this is to be expected and understandable, i'm used to it after 9 years together. he knows i'm okay. i have other friends who i can reach out to if i want to, i've had several people offer to bring me stuff - karissa, gregory, liz, finley, tyler. i might beg for a latte in the morning, and maybe some more soup, we'll see.

meanwhile we are keeping windows open and i am staying in my room and wearing a mask in the apartment when i'm not in my room, doing the best i can to protect him. he's more vaccinated than i am so i trust he would be less sick if he did get it. i only had the one j&j shot, as i missed the window for the 2nd dose since they didn't decide it was a 2 dose vaccine until way too long after i'd had my first, and the cdc didn't want us going back more than 6 weeks after the 1st dose for our 2nd one. so i never got the "full" vaccine. i got the moderna booster but that was only half a dose, and i had zero reaction to it, i'm guessing since i never had the first moderna dose my body didn't have enough antibodies to notice anything. so instead of 3 shots like i was supposed to have, i really only got 1.5. i should have just gone and gotten the second booster even though i'm not 50 yet. i regret this choice, now.

josh's parents were sick when they came home from Vegas, which is why they wore masks and stayed distanced at the memorial, and his mom tested positive for covid today. she's getting paxlovil. hope it helps her. they were coughing but seemed ok4+ ay otherwise.

kinda want oatmeal for dinner lol.

i watched princess bride last night, and ep1 of obi-wan. what else should i watch while cooped up sick? i forgot how to be sick, it's been 3+ years, i don't even know if i got sick at all in 2019?

fever is back, and brought some weird achiness with it that tyler was alluding to earlier today. going to roll with this one. i was so miserable earlier that i did take advil at josh's suggestion, but evidence suggests that taking anti-fever medication will only prolong my illness and increase viral shedding. i'd rather get it over with naturally. i trust my body to do what it needs to do.

a friend of mine commented that his friends in florida have gotten covid 3 times, now. is this what we have to look forward to? is this just life now? if we want to travel or do things in larger groups indoors, go to dances or restaurants, we have to also sometimes be laid out for a week sick in bed?

i don't want to get this again.
