Friday escape
Aug. 19th, 2022 12:33 pmLunar has an infected fang. We scheduled surgery, it won't be for a couple months so part of me hopes that the tooth will just rot and fall out on its own in that time. It's what happened with Willow, but not all cats are so lucky, and I can't let the infection fester.
He'll be okay, he's not in pain, just a little bit of discomfort that doesn't stop him from eating, drinking, walking, etc. I think he will feel better when that fang is gone, though.
All packed for the lookout, I just need to print some maps, put on some clothes, and pack up the car. Drop off some orders on my way out, grab a latte and maybe a pastry treat. I should get going, but wanted to post a list of delights from last night and this morning.
* glittery hugs from old friends who still rock the sparkles
* the melty feeling after drinking an IPA while dancing
* people who dance pretty
* the shy encouragement from my DJ, "glad you made it! I played Sierra for you!"
* staying out too late but getting to witness the dark almost last quarter moon rising and dancing next to Jupiter in a pitch black city sky
* Lunar perking up and asking for breakfast and walkies this morning (unlike yesterday when he just stayed in the closet until well past noon)
* soft overcast cool summer skies
* tiny white mushrooms with yellow centers and grey edges fanned out like parasols popping up out of the dewy grass
* squash blossoms
* annabelle hydrangeas in their full glory
* Lunar in the black eyed susans
* juncos and nuthatches all a twitter
* having so much lovely food to take to the tower with me
* my own printer for things like maps and driving directions
* the way my glossy rainbow iridescent black dancing boots look discarded next to my bed in the morning
* finley sending me sweet texts in the morning
* how soft my hair feels right now
* the first blush of pink on little leaves that will eventually turn into bright colors like flames
* clean air to breathe (no wildfires nearby so far this year)
* box tape
* an easy vet appt that cost a third of what i was expecting
* books in paperback, hardcover, and audio form to take with me on my trip
* locally made mineral based purple eye shimmer
* yeti style cooler for the trip
* yesterday's eyeliner
* how cared for I feel right now
