had really strange dreams about the moon. maybe a message to go back to orienting toward her phases.

it's been smoky and the moon has been strange colors, this might be why. my eyes linger on her longer and although the peaches and pinkish dark oranges are eerily beautiful, it's also ominous and disconcerting.

the clear silvery white is the color and the deep yellow when she rises and sets, those are the shades that comforts the most, when i look at her.

so grateful for so many small blessings.

tiny rant about social media mindlessness )

Wednesday: aerial flow night was incredible. even though i struggled a little bit with muscle cramps, i had an amazing time on silks while people spun fire outside and glow poi inside. i want a new set of ultra poi. maybe i'll ask for xmas if i can't buy some myself. one of the first things i did when i moved back to Portland from Boston in 2004 was take poi spinning classes. i miss it.

there is a DJ and fun loud music and fun colored uplighting everywhere and it was just a blast. Josh had fun on trapeze, I will share some fun videos and photos at some point.

while we were there, a filmmaker came through and filmed us. we chatted, he's doing a documentary about Portland, and I gave him my card. he needs to feature faery hair, imo.

Thursda:y sparkling was delightful, people were so uplifting that i felt better after working, more energized and happy than when i started. i'm so lucky to do what i do.

Josh and I went to see Sylvan Esso at Edgefield Thursday night and it was absolutely perfect. We had zero traffic issues, got in easily, got seats, i discovered a new sparkling hop water that i love (still discovering the joys of sobriety), were enchanted by Amelia's dancing and voice, she's just amazing, they both are (Sylvan Esso is comprised of Sam and Amelia and they are married and just the cutest). we danced and sang and had a blast. I had my tiny purple led fairy wings and they were a bit hit with everyone. (most people don't dress up for this band, but i always do.)

we lingered on the property a bit afterward because it's so beautiful there and we didn't want to fight our way out of the parking lot. while i was standing in line for another fizzy water, Timo texted me that he found my fairy hair article in his Portland Monthly magazine when he got home that night, and he sent me a photo. such a sweetie! I sent him a live selfie of myself at Edgefield, wearing the same earrings as in the magazine photo (also ears and wings and eyeswirl makeup) and he was delighted and super sweet about it.

so then i got all excited about the magazine article eeeee. (it's not online yet but when it is I'll share it here.)

bounced immediately to Shadowplay after dropping Josh off at home, around 11pm, and accidentally stayed until well after 1am. Derek has a way of keeping me there, it's intentional and i half love half hate that he has this much control over me lol.

reconnected with Manders which felt really good. danced with friends. got selfie-bombed by Vince which made me really happy (he so cute). was trying to take selfies with the skeletons lol.

people were nice about the wings at coffin club, i'm not normally winged or so colorful as i was for sylvan esso but it worked. i did have my purple moon harness and black club boots so that helped.

got 4 hrs of sleep that night and worked out with cynthia in the morning in the form of a long walk in the cemetery. my average hr for that workout was 115, i think because it was so hot and humid. from there ran straight to New Seasons to pick up two copies of the magazine (I want to give one to Karissa to thank her for being my hair model - also her mother-in-law is quoted in the article).

ran to work and had a full, beautiful, uplifting day of sparkling again, which ended with the sweetest little six year old who was completely enchanted with the entire process. she played with Sparkle Bunny while I sparkled her aunt and was just the most darling thing, she gave me a hug at the end and I was so so honored. What a magical little exchange. I was high on the magazine article the whole day and chatted about it with my people, the editor did such an amazing job capturing the spirit of my work, I think.

got to rest the rest of the night, last night, had some beautiful food and tyler brought over some pizza and kombucha and was very very pleasant, he's trying so hard. i'm glad he seems to be doing better. it feels nice to know that we are important to him, even when he goes through phases of treating us not so great. we can't give up on him, i think he's just struggling with some personal stuff. he seems to be working through it. he started a google development support network and is getting a lot of recognition and attention for his work there to try to help people become successful coders and it seems to be really engaging and good for him - he's building it from scratch and learning as he goes and roping in people to help and it's really cool to see him working so hard to make it good for others.

need to shower, get to the farmers market, get ready to sparkle Alice at Bison, and make a quick video about the magazine article for youtube. almost finished with coffee. off we go.

awoooooo

waiting for finley to get home so i can go see him. anxiety like whoah.

(the way he looks at me tho)

The modern wolf, he's kinder
But saying we, it's a reminder
Don't wear no suits, we're talking t-shirts
See how he lies, makes women shiver
Ahoo, Ahoo

He ain't no Jack, his voice is smoother
Been bending notes, just like his father
Ahoo, Ahoo

But no birds nor beast does he eat
He only wants the tenderest meat
And oh the sounds he makes them speak
Under all different patterns of sheets
Colors blind
Oh, Dopamine
And she looked so good when they were last seen
Ahoo, Ahoo

The modern wolf, the modern wolf
Drippin' in all the lives that he took
He'll go on home, try to wash them off
But when he shaves, he hears them call
Ahoo, Ahoo
