Halloween history, housework, horrible sibling altercation.

Just finished the floors, and this wonderful episode from NPR's "Thoughline" history podcast about the history of Halloween: The Dance of the Dead



I might check out one of the Lisa Morton's Halloween history books, I'll see if any of them are on audible. She's delightful. I'm also curious about Oscar Wilde's mother Lady Wilde and the stories she captured of the Celt's traditions around Samhain, she has a book, Ancient Legends: Mystic Charms and Superstitions of Ireland (here's a link.)

It took me over an hour to do all the floors, and I skipped Josh's room since he's working, oof. why is housework so hard. I'll scrub the sink later. Need nourishment, now.

My head is screaming, I need more coffee and some food. The sun is out, the wind is blustery, maybe I should walk to the cafe just to get out in it a bit, sunshine helps with the pain and my mood.

Had a really horrible phone call with my brother this morning. I'm really glad I have therapy tomorrow. oof. why did I answer? why do I hate myself? lol.

I can't seem to recover from that phone call with my brother. I'm going to try sleeping.

Maru is 16 now and has two little sisters. Old kitty, still doing his silly Maru stuff. I love him so much.

home from running some errands and weeping in the car. gregory at the coop kept saying, "i'm sorry, i'm sorry" when i was giving him cash tonight, he's so sweet and gentle and struggles so much with words, and his situation is not his fault, it makes me so sad.

so windy. blustery november day.

all i need to do for the next three hours is henna my hair and pack and wax my skis. i can do this, i can do this. all

i want to do is cry. and eat sugar. (i bought a bunch of naughty snacks for the lookout - brownies, fig and olive crackers that taste more like cookies, granola, pb&j bites, granola, and i've already eaten half of the greek yogurt pretzels.)

how to be motivated to do anything ever
