ugh still so sniffly. might have to reschedule work again tomorrow, bleargh.

Got up to feed Avalanche and then went back to bed. My usual morning routine is to feed her, make coffee/wash dishes/clean the kitchen, and then run her with her favorite feather toy for a while. So going back to bed (because I don't feel well) is not typical. Was having really funny weird pleasant dreams (this has been true the last two nights - they're not all nightmares), with Avalanche occasionally mewing soft complaints, and then after a little while Avi woke me up by dragging her feather toy onto the bed and dropping it on my nose, lolololol.

kids, I tell ya.

I probably should not have run up Angel's Rest yesterday, but it felt SO AMAZING. I am so sad I can't do silks today, but going upside-down with a nose that's dripping like a faucet is no fun. Also it's just inconsiderate to go out while sick, I try not to do that.

Josh is doing an online cooking thing tonight with his team at work over zoom so I had to tidy up the kitchen extra much this morning, and dig out the tools he'll need, they're making hand-cut pasta, sounds fun. They usually drink excessively during these events, so maybe he'll indulge in one of those fancy non-alcoholic wines we have. He really likes them.

Our LA trip is all booked and flights are purchased, I just have to line up a rental car and Six Flags tickets. Whee! He got us in for flying trapeze outdoors in Santa Monica for Friday, so fun.

I love LA, I haven't been back in over 20 years, it'll be so nice to be there for four days. Short and sweet. The apartment he found for us has a pool and hot tub, bonus. I told him I wanted to swim. When I lived in LA, I swam in our apartment complex pool every morning. Maybe I can even buy a decent swimsuit while I'm there - Portland is abysmal at selling swimwear. A good Roxy tankini suit would be really fun to have.

The only hike I have planned is the hike up to the Hollywood sign, but there are three different options for that so I might even do it twice. There are "easy", "moderate", and "hard" routes - the "moderate" one (Brush Canyon) sounds very similar to the Ancient Lakes trail that Josh signed us up for in April, so would be perfect training for that, whereas the "hard" trail (Cahuenga) is a 3 mile 1000' steep short and sweet hike that is very serafaery style. The "easy" one starts at Griffith observatory or could be started lower at Western Canyon for more climbing and variety.

Other than that I just want to soak up sunshine at the beaches and check out the coffee scene, swim, maybe rollerblade on the strand. And try not to get sunburnt lol.
