Avalanche's nephews didn't make it. I feel so badly for Natasha, and it's a hard lesson for the family that accidentally let their sibling cats mate. They came early and Fern stopped producing milk, they didn't have much of a chance. So sad.

Avalanche has a hurt eye again, this is the fourth time. This is so upsetting, purebreds are just so delicate. She's the most upset about it I've ever seen and completely stopped eating last night and just curled up and hid under one of her cat trees, but she had breakfast this morning and asked to go outside, before going back under her cat tree.

I realized that she was sitting there next to her toy box, which is full of catnip toys. Although she does not react to catnip, it is known to have anti-nausea effects, so I grabbed a little sample pack we got in her raffle basket, which is a catnip and silvervine mix, and sprinkled some near her, just to see if it might help her feel a little better.

I caught her rubbing on it gently with her chin, after a minute. Squeeee! This means she can react to silvervine. Some cats who don't react to regular catnip will react to the silvervine version, so this is a very exciting discovery for me. I will get her some pure silvervine today on my way home from the coffee shop - Josh and I are going to ride up to Bison for a coffee date, today. I am learning to use my non-hurt foot to get on and off my bike so I can bike now without pain, which is AMAZING. I've added back dancing and biking, now I have to work on hiking. Actual hiking up little mountains, not just little flat walks in a park. Distantly, I do really want to get back to running, but that will probably be further down the road. (no pun intended.)
