post saddle mountain high
Jan. 16th, 2025 09:54 amStill need to catch up on dw reading, I am excited to finally slowly be building some connections here that I actually enjoy, tysm for being here, whoever is! :)
Had another really beautiful day yesterday, went by myself to hike my favorite mountain in the coast range, and it was I am not exaggerating nearly 70 degrees at the top. Sooooooo blissful. It was clear enough to see Jefferson, Hood, Adams, Helens, and Rainier along with the glimmering ocean. Sooooo sunny, happy raven calls, the softest breeze, so beautiful. I caught a spectacular sunset on the beach to finish off the day, and dipped my toes in the ocean before coming home.
Was able to get some work done before and after hiking, and Josh and I had so much beautiful food to enjoy yesterday. Pizza, elk burgers, veggies, pumpkin pie, blisssssss.
Gotta cook him lunch and eat something and head to werk for the day, I'm sore from the hike intensity and tired and happy.
He and I continue to do better, we had a nice morning doing our exercise routine together, at my encouragement and initiation, I'm glad he was able to join me (he didn't have any calls until later so had a little more time than usual, I slept in a tiny bit after the exhaustion from the hiking yesterday). Shifting our dynamic is exciting and new and it feels like it's adding a new sparkliness to our marriage. We're going on year 12 and we've never really made any dramatic changes to the way we do things together, but we have grown and changed as people so it totally makes sense. I'm feeling so much more hopeful for us going forward. If still nursing my wounds and a little fragile around the edges, still. It will take a long time for my trust to re-solidify, but that's okay, we have time.
My body is still tender from the migraine but getting better.
It's been fun figuring out how best to situate myself and my stuff in my new room. Avalanche seems very content so far, we've been playing a ton together so she is happier and more relaxed than usual, it's really nice to see her doing well.
Off to werk, will write more tomorrow hopefully :)
