The high-pitched mew of a tiny kitten gets me all worked up in a frenzy of adoration and need-to-take-care-of.

I think all of my biological maternal instincts got re-routed to cats, and dogs to a lesser degree. I have no interest whatsoever (and am actually frightened of and often repulsed by) human babies. But baby kitties? Lemme at 'em!

It's so great! They're so much cheaper, they don't consume and destroy the environment a 100th as much as a human, they're cheap to care for, and they have all the love I need.

Plus there are so many unwanted ones in the world to rescue. If I did decide one day that I wanted a human child, I would totally adopt a four year old. No diapers, no Terrible Twos, something that can speak and reason with me to a certain degree. So many unwanted young children in the world. Why add to the problem? Because you want to have something that looks like you? Meh. I just don't get it.

I guess if human babies make other women feel the way I do about baby kittens, I kinda get it.

I'm totally with you. "Mew?" wins me over FAR more than "wahhhhhhhh!"

but then, I'm a borderline-full-blown crazy cat lady... having me agree with you might actually be a bit scary...


If you ever DO get a 4 year old, can I borrow it? 4 year olds are my mom's favorite. she loves tea parties. :)

Four year olds are too expensive. :-/ If that were to happen I'd have to win the lottery and probably have already gone through menopause, hehe.
