was watching my girl sam vlogging and a portion of her vlog was happening while she was straightening her hair with a flat iron. i've never had a flat iron. but it made me realize, oh, my friend with the really thick bouncy awesome hair? she flat irons her hair every. single. day. I have a curling iron. I should probably try smoothing my hair if i don't like the fact that my long, scraggly hair perpetually looks like garbage.

maybe i'll try that rn. i don't have any heat protective products, but i have a leave in conditioner spray that might help? i dunno. hair plz don't fry lol.

she also talked about waxing her eyebrows but that's absolutely never happening lol

I gave up ever flat-ironing my hair. Damaging and just too much of a hassle, plus heating tended to make my semi-permanent purple dye more prone to rub off on my hands. And if there was any humidity then the results didn't stick for long anyway. (I always envied people whose hair went limp in humidity...) I think switching to a sulfate-free shampoo and stopping using any kind of smoothing treatment with silicones has helped my hair texture more, though I know others' mileage varies. I rarely use any kind of extra treatments now.
