Blueberry pie for breakfast. <3
It's such a strange sensation, to slowly wake up after several days of intense emotional (and not a small amount of physical) pain, and to feel the fear melt away, and to remember that it is not all entirely awful, that there are good things in my past, that there might be good things in my future, too.
Had a deeply healing session in the kitchen last night, starting with cauliflower mushrooms and veggies and moving onto roasting an adorable little stripy acorn squash, toasting its seeds (and immediately chomping down all said seeds because omg delicious), and then baking blueberry pie.
The squash reminded me that "Myrrh" showed me how to bake squash, and I totally fell in love with the process with him and because of him. He was really sweet about food whenever we made anything together. Gentle and curious and always kind and considerate. I am grateful for this. there are some warm, happy memories, there. Maybe one day they will overshadow all of the pain, and I can laugh at what seems so awful, and smile at what was good.
