It seems like when I observe myself giving - in socialization, hair sparkles, face painting, wing making, making food and baked goods, hobbit gingerbread houses, in aerial and ice skating, frequently in my office work, even the presentation of my costumes - I give my all. My entire being and spirit and everything I have is involved in the giving, authentically and genuinely. This is perhaps why I get so exhausted so quickly. I don't know how to ratchet back. I don't know if I want to. Maybe this is something I need to learn to do. For now, I will just continue to pay attention and be aware, and to be gentle with myself when I hit my limits.
