so i had this squishy persimmon, and i got these fluffy poppyseed rolls from one of my favorite farmers market vendors, and i was craving fruit for lunch, but also something warm, so i was thinking i would make a fruit compote and dip pieces of the bun into it.

i put blueberries and strawberries in with the persimmon to cook down in a pot, and broke the bun into little bite sized pieces, put them in a bowl and poured the hot fruit over them. they totally soaked it up like sponges and it was all so sweet and dreamy and exactly what i wanted. love when that happens.
