it feels like being stolen from.
Sep. 19th, 2023 06:43 pmThe forest service re-opened my lookout without telling me and gave my reservation dates to someone else.
My reservation still shows in my account. But they let someone else book it anyway.
I am soooooooooooooooooo saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.
Here is their weak-ass excuse, sigh.
Hi Sarah,
The lookout was added earlier this summer into the Bedrock fire closure, and we were told this would be the case for the season, therefore, we cancelled all reservations. If you click view reservation in the screen shot you sent, you will see your reservation is cancelled and you have been fully refunded. The fire team was able to get a hold on the fire and decided to pull the lookout out of the closure. At this point we could re-open the closure. The system did not have a way for us to re-validate or honor previously cancelled reservations. Therefore, the lookout was opened back up on a first-come, first-serve basis. We apologize we could not honor your reservation after having it be cancelled and the frustrations you have and knowing how difficult it is to book the lookout. This is feedback we will take and look to improve the reservation system.
Sorry for the inconvenience,
