Same story here in California. Who knew, if you dropped masking mandates, capacity/distancing limits, and requring vaccinations that this could happen? WHO COULD HAVE PREDICTED
At least my employer is continuing to require indoor masking for public-facing staff (like, not people in a private back office necessarily) and students at least through Memorial Day. So, interestingly, is BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit train system), despite the dropping of the federal requirement on transit, although a lot of single-county systems are not bucking it like BART is. (Not that I've been on a BART train in over two years...)
I had my third shot way back at the beginning of December, which being almost six months ago, I'm starting to get a bit worried that so far only the 65+/compromised group is allowed to get fourth shots; although without it either being tailored to omicron or one of the more "broad spectrum" Holy-Grails that are being researched (otherwise you're just playing whack-a-mole with an evolving virus), I suppose the usefulness would be questionable. (the Moderna/Pfizer pair that is common in the US being, what, still pretty high against serious illness but only 30-35% against infection, or something?)
