Was so tired after work tonight, the last thing I wanted to do was stop by the drug store to get Josh some cough suppressant and cough drops.
But I did, circling around and dealing with extra heavy traffic, staring at the isle for what felt like forever until I finally found a bottle that had just cough suppressant and not a bunch of other stuff added, and a small bag of Ricola instead of family size.
He was soooooooo grateful. He missed out on a work cocktail zoom event thingie because he just couldn't stop coughing. I thought he might find cough drops or dayquil in the bathroom but apparently either we're out or he just didn't have it in him to dig deep enough to look for them.
I feel bad, I should have gotten him stuff sooner, but i'm really glad I made myself stop on the way home.
Sometimes I'm an okay wife.
I cooked him salmon along with the last of my homemade stuffing and mashed potatoes, and a cup of medicinal tea. He's happy.
"I didn't do jack for you when you were sick," he acknowledged. It's what we do, we nurture. I can't help it. I love him so.
