I wasn’t planning to Instagram my Joshua tree visit, but today was so spectacular and I’m decompressing at the airbnb and just posted a bunch of photos I dunno, whatever. I don’t want to make people feel bad or jealous, I’m just astonished at the beauty, here.

There was a wee California ground squirrel on the deck this morning, and a small pure black cat hunting outside between the cactuses, she was so perfect, oh my heart.

Trips are challenging but this one is already worth the time, expense, and effort, and we still have two more days to explore. Josh wants me to climb with him tomorrow, and after all the fun scrambling we did today, I’m anxious to get higher. I’ll do it, even though I’d rather hike - my silks arms are anxious to climb and I can hike Tuesday. It’ll be great. Or it’ll be really hard and also very healthy for me to push myself past comfort.

The sunshine, I can’t even. I’m drinking it in like the most luxurious wine, I’m drunk on it.
