Josh's oatmeal this morning included: frozen blueberries (antioxidant), ground flax seeds (omega 3s), raisins, goji berries (to prevent macular degeneration that runs in his family), pumpkin spice, matcha (polyphenols), pecans, chopped pear and persimmon (DNA repair), freshly ground turmeric (carcinogenic blocking) and ginger (anti-inflammatory), lemon zest (skin), and mint (antioxidant).

It's like a bowl of delicious medicine, kinda.

faery steps

finally forced myself out the door to get some biking in this afternoon, about 3pm. swung by the post office and snuck past the line to drop off my box (I already paid and printed postage, I literally just had to drop it off b/c the medium flat rate boxes don't fit in the slots they provide in the mail collection bins), made it to bison before they closed for an almond milk latte, dropped off a disney xmas themed face mask in my brother's mailbox, and forced myself to bike up to the top of Rocky Butte.

It was hard but manageable. I am a lot more tired than I should be for a 600' climb. I was in such better shape last spring omg. No silks no skating makes sera ohsovery weak. (Also not getting dragged up mountains by a certain mountaineer friend.) I stopped at the top and enjoyed the latte thoroughly, watched the beginnings of sunset and bundled up for the entirely downhill bike ride home. I wore my green led faery light string around my neck, my xmas light up face mask set to red, and had my jingle bell socks on, and my leaf hoodie and fuzzy wolfy hat. I didn't wear a helmet today. They're just so wildly uncomfortable.

I froze my ass off coming home. I only had little thin cotton socks and my thin little slip on shoes that are literally falling apart (I bought them for a job interview in 2013 and wore them every single day for years, they are destroyed, fraying all over the place, threadbare, I look like a homeless person wearing them and I don't really care, I've always had trashy shoes with holes in them, I have vivid memories of being bullied for this in 2nd or 3rd grade - I really need to buy some new shoes omg), and little thin cotton gloves. Stopped at Rite Aid on the way home to pick up much needed supplies, it was dark by the time I left there and I still had 4 miles to bike home. People were gawking at my attire while I felt like I am doing the bare minimum when it comes to biking adornment. I feel boring without my wings. I hope that unicorn onesie I impulse-bought from Target the other night arrives so I can try it out soon on the bike, that will feel more appropriate.

The new lamp is much better with the softer lightbulb. They cost more than the thrifted lamp, lol.

Came home and had two pieces of pizza and two bites of yak and a few candied nuts and a couple pieces of chocolate. Now just sipping chai. I made a complete covid requirement document for myself for hair sparkling, and designed a covid screening email that looks nice and is pretty simple and straightforward, and created a new "location" for Faery Hair Sparkles at the new studio, with the new address. Hopefully square and google won't start sending me a ton of mail there, maybe it's okay if they do, I dunno.

I also updated my google business page and revamped that site a bit. Tomorrow the main website gets an announcement. I still need to create new "services" in square since that will look totally different with covid, but I'm getting there! One step at a time.
