faery friday
Jun. 11th, 2021 11:40 amhad a rough middle part of the day, was still nauseated, hopped on my bike, it was just so hard to push myself. ran an errand (got sodastream cartridge exchanged), failed to run another (thai cart closed early), biked up to Bison for a latte, nearly getting wiped out by cyclists running a stop sign on the way. then headed up Rocky Butte and learned that I can't do that anymore, sigh. I couldn't get across 82nd safely, there's just so much fucking traffic, it's like pandemic never happened or worse. And then I came the closest I've ever come to getting hit by a car. I had to jump off my bike and lean way over to keep the car from scraping me and I watched his tire come within a quarter inch of mine, fucker. He started his turn without seeing me and then when he saw me diving off of my bike, just kept the fuck going? with no adjustment to give me space whatsoever? assssshooooooolllllleeee. But, the bike up Rocky Butte was a desperate pandemic activity to keep strong while hiking trails and everything else was closed, so I don't have to do it anymore. I can skate now, I can do silks outside if the weather is nice, I can hike. So, byebye little extinct volcano, I'll miss swooshing down from the top of you.
sigh.
after that things got better. I made pizza to make up for the lack of thai food, and josh was elated. I got on zoom for Margaret (she had an unpleasant divorce anniversary, today - lots of friends showed up for her, thank goodness). I bailed a little early to go see Loki with Finley. My brother hasn't listed his house yet and both of our spouses were home, so I took him over there. It took me forever to get the TV to work, which was so annoying because it worked fine when I was there earlier that day, I specifically set it up and checked. But I had technical difficulties for about an hour and had to be walked through some of it by my poor brother over the phone (he's really good at that, fortunately). Even when we got the input thing resolved, I still couldn't connect to wifi even though I had the right password. I mentioned something about the God of Mischief not letting me log on, and entered the exact same password (which I had earlier that day with no problem, there's no reason why I would have to enter it again in the first place, but I didn't know what else to do so I just kept trying), and as soon as I asked Loki for permission, the password took and we were good to go. ?????? Is Loki a faery? This is an experience I have with faeries frequently, when I lose things.
The episode was SO GOOD. I loved it. Finley loved it. He and I just drank each other in, snuggling for hours, it was sooooooooooooooo nice. We never get tired of touching one another.
I need to go to werk! It will be a chill day. I'm looking forward to the quiet, rainy weekend to clean up the apartment and get caught up on appointments and unemployment and such. Tonight I need to get some kitty litter and pick up the fruit and cheese I forgot at my brother's house, on the way home from work. Maybe I'll film a video if I can get my makeup to cooperate, lol.
I feel better about the kitty, the nausea over not knowing who is going to contact me over or or when could not be sustained forever, I am more able to just accept the unknown quantity, now. I don't want to let these people ruin my weekend. I need some quality downtime and me time, eat nettles and mushrooms and maybe get a dry hike done in the gorge. We shall see.
